July 18-19, 2014

We left Saltsburg at the crack of 10:30. A full day of driving landed us in the KOA in Crawfordsville, IN. Rt 70 through Ohio is still the worst road in the country. There is always construction. Lola has the whole back seat to herself and is a happy dog as long as she is with us. She understands what the rest stops are for so she does not waste any time. We passed a large campground/music festival site that was packed for the Jamboree in the Hills that looked as if it would be quite an event.
Because we lost an hour we were up early on Sat. headed for Illinois and Iowa. We were in search of a Bed, Bath and Beyond to make the sofa bed a bit more comfortable for our guests this summer. Peoria is a nice town. an added bonus was a Sat. farmers market. Fresh veggies are always a treat. Iowa corn is pretty good but does not match Western Pa corn. An extensive internet search found a KOA in Waterloo IA. It was a surprise when we arrived to find that it is a KOA Resort with a lake, as well a spitting distance to both an extensive water park and a casino(neither of which we are interested in visiting).
